Hypnotherapy techniques are all designed to achieve the same end:
to induce the client into a deep relaxation
while supporting communication with the subconscious mind.
Placing the client into this relaxed state allows the therapist to help the client understand
the root cause of the issues and re-programme responses.
The subconscious is the largest portion of the human mind, storing memories, experiences, thoughts and feelings, however we rely predominantly on the smaller conscious brain for our logical day to day thoughts.
The logical mind tells us that we shouldn't be reacting as we are, that anxiety, depression, stress, addiction is silly, that we should 'just get over it', however the emotions stored in our subconscious override this logic every time,
leaving us with a conflict and confusion.

Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing was originally developed to help individuals recover from the effects of trauma; this modern, effective tool can also be used to help:
relieve the discomfort of phobias
facilitate the accessing, processing and resolving of disturbing memories and unpleasant life experiences
whilst addressing negative beliefs and unwanted body sensations about past or future events.
EMDR can also be utilised to help build self-confidence, eliminate negative beliefs and promote supportive positive beliefs.
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy
CBT is a modern talk-therapy that is most commonly used, within the NHS, to treat issues associated with anxiety and depression however, the technique works by exploring, identifying and changing maladaptive thought patterns, negative feelings, and unwanted behaviours, so is suitable for a whole-collection of problems.
Over the years, CBT has been shown to be effective in treating a myriad of differing mental health issues to include: phobias, obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), post traumatic stress (PTS/PTSD), panic disorders, anger-related issues, addictions and eating disorders, and can even assist with long term complaints such as irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS), and fibromyalgia (FM).
By working closely with a therapist, trained in CBT, it is possible for the client to free themselves from the constraints of unhealthy mindsets and damaging cognitive processes that are holding them back from being the person they want to be. In addition to this, the therapist will provide tools and techniques that the client can use for the future to support the maintenance of a more positive demeanour and proactive thoughts, feelings and behaviours.
Counselling costs start at £50 per individual session, last for 50 minutes, and are arranged weekly/fortnightly as requested.
